How NSFW AI image generators work — and how to choose one

From prompt to picture: what a generator actually does

Text in, pixels out — what differs is the form built around the model. Promptchan's generation endpoint shows the fields such a form really takes — prompt, style, pose, filter, detail, seed, quality, image size, negative prompt, face restoration — and no image field of any kind. Two matter before you spend: the negative prompt lists what you do not want; the seed makes a result repeatable.

The rest of the cost is compute: NovelAI caps its unlimited-image allowance at 1024×1024 pixels and 28 steps, and PornPen puts upscaling, uncropping and watermark-free output on its Pro plan.

A few platforms expose the models directly: PixAI documents image-to-image editing, up to ten reference images and LoRA training on its paid tiers, and Unstability.ai advertises 120+ models. Most name nothing — DreamGF says only that its characters come from its own proprietary model — so treat that copy as unverified.

Video: a still first, then a few seconds of motion

“AI porn video” here almost always means image-to-video: you generate or pick a still and the system animates it. Candy AI builds user video from a character image; Sexy AI animates an image already in your library.

Lengths as printed: OurDream up to 60 seconds — the longest figure any vendor gave us — Secrets AI 15, GirlfriendGPT and PixAI 10, Infatuated in five-, eight- and ten-second steps costing 20 to 70 tokens. Most other vendors print no maximum at all; DreamGF, Unstability.ai and NovelAI showed no video product.

Video costs a multiple of an image wherever a vendor prices both, so a video plan is an image plan with one expensive button; and because the input is a still you already hold, a tool with no upload path cannot be aimed at a real person's face. Our video list ranks only generators that print a video product.

Credits, tokens and the price you actually pay

Pricing has two layers: a subscription that unlocks access, and a consumable balance called gems, tokens, coins, dreamcoins, Anlas or credits. Infatuated maps that second layer most clearly: 2 tokens a message, 5 an image, 10 an upscale, 20 a five-second video.

What the free tiers print

The card price is often the first payment, not the recurring one: DreamGF prints $12.99 first against $25.99 a month afterwards, and Fantasy.ai a seven-day trial at $5.99 renewing at $14.99 — both run by DreamAI SRL of Romania, whose policies add a $1.99 monthly maintenance charge. Annual plans bill upfront, so Candy AI's €3.99 a month arrives as €47.88 and Secrets AI's $9.17 as $109.99. Nectar AI and HeraHaven print no verifiable price list, which costs each a checklist box. What “uncensored” actually means

“Uncensored” has a narrow meaning in this market: no safe-for-work filter on fictional adult content. It has never meant “anything goes”. Every generator we verified describes moderation of some kind except NovelAI, whose only reviewed surface is the opt-in Explore feed. Where a real-person or minors policy exists at all it is a ban — though several word the real-person half as a consent condition.

The vendors describe the mechanics: Promptchan scans prompts, outputs and uploads at creation and blocks before delivery; OurDream classifies every prompt before any model runs; PixAI adds human re-evaluation within seven working days; PornPen reviews every prompt and blocklists minor-related terms.

Often it is a tier or a switch. GirlfriendGPT prints it in its Deluxe plan description; Unstability.ai requires you to be 18 to disable a content safety filter; PixAI generates nothing adult until “Confirm Over 18” is set. A refusal is the system working, not a fault to route around.

Where a statement is missing we say so: on the pages we read, PixAI, HeraHaven and NovelAI carry nothing about real people, and HeraHaven and NovelAI nothing about minors.

Five policy checks to run before you pay

Five checks, each answerable in minutes from the vendor's pages.

1. A real-person ban — read it for qualifiers. Candy AI's blocked-content policy bans “deceptive or harmful” impersonation and non-consensual deepfakes rather than likeness as such; its community guidelines state the flat version. Both are in the Candy AI review.
2. A minors ban covering fictional and AI-generated depictions. Nectar AI's says so outright; silence elsewhere means unverified, not a pass.
3. No way in for a photo of a person. Candy AI and PornPen state that user uploads are not allowed and Promptchan exposes no image field; GirlfriendGPT, PixAI, Unstability.ai and NovelAI do take image input. OurDream's marketing advertises uploads and face swap while its help center says photo uploads are not allowed — we quote both.
4. Whether the vendor runs a likeness program. Candy AI's Candy Creators twins, Fantasy.ai's verified real-model profiles and Infatuated's ID-verified twin page are licensing arrangements, not ways to depict a stranger — but a different product, so the checklist marks a missing box.
5. An age gate. Most ranked tools show a click-through 18+ box; Candy AI, Infatuated, Unstability.ai and NovelAI showed none when we visited — their 18+ rule lives only in written policy.

Those rules differ by country and are moving. UK services that allow pornography have needed “highly effective age assurance” since 25 July 2025 under the Online Safety Act 2023 (Ofcom guidance). In the US, the TAKE IT DOWN Act — S. 146, Public Law 119-12, signed May 19, 2025 — gave platforms to May 19, 2026 to remove a reported non-consensual intimate image, AI “digital forgeries” included, within 48 hours of a valid request; the FTC enforces it (full text, govinfo). Privacy: galleries, retention and what your bank sees

Check the default gallery setting before your first generation. Promptchan publishes creations to a public community gallery unless you pay for private generation, with a broad content license on public-mode work; PornPen's private mode is Pro-only; DreamGF makes user-created characters browsable. Secrets AI, PixAI, Infatuated and Fantasy.ai are private until you publish.

Read the license and the retention clock. Yume AI's terms (EverAI Limited of Malta, which also operates Candy AI) grant a perpetual, sub-licensable license including model training, and Unstability.ai collects all generated images for moderation and reserves marketing use. Retention runs from “not stored at all” at NovelAI, through three years after last activity at Candy AI, to six years at GirlfriendGPT.

Know what your bank will see. Secrets AI states it bills discreetly as S LABS INC., Yume AI prints that the charge appears as EverAI, and Sexy AI advertises discreet billing via Epoch or gift cards.

How our checklist maps to these checks

Our order is a checklist, not a score: each generator gets a box per statement we could verify on its pages — a real-person ban, a minors ban, no reference-photo upload, pricing as printed, video output, a free tier, no vendor-run likeness program. Ties go to the lower entry price, then the name.

Four tools carry all seven — Promptchan, Secrets AI, Yume AI and EroPlay — which means those statements were on their pages, not that they draw better. Partner tools (Secrets AI, Candy AI, OurDream) are grouped first, disclosed on every page; that changes placement, never a box, and no tool pays for a position. The method is on our about page.

A missing box means we found no statement, not that the tool permits the thing — where a gap exists we still list the generator and name it.
